Freeloaders Beware!!!!

July 28, 2004 :: Thoughts ::

Wow…a member of a forum I frequent made one of the best posts I have seen in awhile. I want to post a cross section of it here.

“Teen mentality sticks with some people most of their lives. You know, the “I didn’t ask to be born, so why should I do anything?” types. Then these same people will complain that they aren’t making enough when they are 40 and working at McDonalds for a manager who’s 20 years old.

Personally, I voted for Bush, but I am not a believer. It really had nothing to do with his stance on religious issues or homosexuality or marriage or whatever. It had everything to do with his stance on defense and social programs. I don’t like to work half the year to pay for some lazy person and their 6 kids. I do not subscribe to the notion that “everyone deserves ______” (fill in the blank). Everyone deserves what everyone works for. This silly sayings like “everyone deserves a second chance” or “everyone deserves healthcare” or “everyone deserves a house” are just selling points that have been drilled into our heads for a couple of decades. Everyone certianly does NOT deserve a home, healthcare or a second chance. Some do, because they earned it. Health care should not be a gift, if you have the ability to work and pay for it. Those who milk the system hide behind the children who are caught up in it. When you try to restrict these freeloaders, they use the kids as a shield “you want to cut my children off from decent healthcare”. It might sound harsh, but since they are YOUR kids, they are YOUR problem, not mine.”

My sentiments exactly. This guy must have been picking my brain when I posted the other night on my blog.

*Quietly applauds*
