Equality NOT Superiority

July 30, 2004 :: Thoughts ::

First of all, let it be known that I am all about everyone having equal rights. Regardless of sex, race, religion or sexual orientation, I think everyone should be created equal.

[Insert "however"]

I think people take civil rights and equality entirely too far. I completely disagree with laws that state that if a company has over X amount of employees, they have to hire a person of a different race (African American, Hispanic, etc.), or colleges that offer scholarships to only students of a certain race (affirmative action). I believe in equality, NOT that one race, religion, sex or sexual preference should be elevated over another. I think this is highly unfair. I do not think there is any level of goodness or right in hiring an African American to fill a quota when a white man may have been more qualified for the job, or vice versa. Hire the qualified ones. This enables you to offer quality service always.

As I stated in an earlier post, I despise fanatics of all kinds. I hate when people are so wrapped up in themselves that they want to yell “discrimination” at every turn, and throw their actions in my face. Gay people go on and on about gays being discriminated against, about gay pride, gay marriage, etc. etc.. I honestly do not care. I don’t care what they do in the privacy of their own home, and I don’t think they should get special treatment because they prefer to screw someone of your own sex. That is absurd. Do what they want, just don’t throw it in my face.

If someone doesn’t hire them, stop yelling that they are being discriminated against. Maybe they are an idiot who is not qualified for the job. Bet they never though about that…they are too busy looking for something to get pissed about.

Concerning homosexuality, people need to learn that some are going to be uncomfortable about it. Those who truly have been a victim of a hate crime have a little sympathy from me. There are very close minded people out there, and people need to be careful.

I do not like hearing when someone is protesting for gay rights, constantly talking about gay rights, etc. I don’t mind hearing when someone comes out of the closet, because it is necessary in most social situations to keep people from trying to hook them up in a hetero-sexual relationship. :). However, I don’t not think they should bring it up constantly, give interviews about it, write about it, have TV shows about it, etc. etc. It is like hearing 40 times a day “I like getting screwed in the butt” or “I have sex with girls”. It is ridiculous. I don’t want to hear about it, and I don’t care. If I want to hear about it, I will download some lesbian porn. :)

As far as the rights of other races, I really feel like people get too free of a rein. I understand that there is going to be racist people who should be treated just as they treat people, but I really don’t think, as I mentioned above, that they should get special treatment because they were born with a different colored skin.

This is the reason I lean more toward a conservative mindset than a liberal one. I am not all about discrimination cases and environmentalism. Not my cup of tea.

Well, til later!

    In all honesty, not too many people are playing on the whole supiriority issue. Homosexuals, or people that are fighting for them are all for civil rights. Although many don’t see it, gays are NOT given the equal rights that the constitution gives all people. Its funny how hypocritical people are, society tells us not to seperate blacks from whites, but why not have society not defining a person by thier sexuality as well? You see it everyday. Like the whole marriage issue, people don’t agree with the “marriage” bit, but what most homosexuals are fighting for isn’t the title, its the rights that go along with it. Don’t they deserve them too? Or are they too different to get those rights that everyone else does? Anyway, I agree with you, no one should get superior rights, but they SHOULD get them. I’m more focused, obviously on the homosexuality bit, so sorry if thats not what you were getting at. Just don’t bag it if they don’t even have the same rights as most… thats not supirior rights, thats lack of rights at all.
