I went to church tonight. To a UPC of all things. It had been well over a year since I last attended church. It was alright, pretty typical stuff. They had a pretty awesome choir, everything else was pretty normal. I was quite surprised, however, that my husband enjoyed it as much as he did. He is even considering going back for another service. He was raised in the LDS church, so he obviously has not had much experience in the more charismatic denominations. Either way, it was somewhat enjoyable, but I don’t think I can see myself doing it every week. I might be a better person if I did, but I don’t know if I can let myself slip back into “church girl” mode. I spent most of my life in that mold, before I became really disillusioned and cynical about everything.
It would be nice to snag a little of the peace of mind that comes with that lifestyle, but I just don’t know if I can do it again. Maybe it’s worth a try, maybe not. Who knows. All I know, is that I have to make some changes in my life, and perhaps that is a step toward doing so.
On a lighter note, I watched a pretty hilarious movie tonight, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle. Cheesy as hell, but funny. Kinda made me crave the wonderful taste of tiny, fresh White Castle cheeseburgers…mmmm…
Anyway, I finally finished filing all my papers tonight, after dismantling my papershredder to free a jam. That is one job that I am glad I have out of the way.
Well, I think I am going to hit the sack, ’cause I have a horrible headache. Either that or try to watch another movie. I dunno.
