“It’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle change.”

Wise word from the vice-president of the company I work for, when I queried him about why I was hungry all the time while I was working out. “Simple. You aren’t eating enough.” was his response. He went on to explain his philosophy of eating and weight management, and explained the value of high-protein, low-carb dieting. I never quite understood the “carbs are evil” jargon before, but it kind of makes sense now. He advised me to not cut out carbs completely, but to stick with good stuff, not dead calorie foods like white pasta or hamburger buns. Rather, have a slice of whole wheat toast with breakfast, and a baked potato on the side at lunch. Most importantly, always eat at LEAST three meals a day; five would be even better. Eat lots of protein or take a supplement (I prefer to eat, hehe), and watch those portions!!

So far, I have been able to swing a minimum of four meals (three meals, one or two snacks in between) per day. Breakfast of eggs, toast and milk is pretty yummy. Dunno what I am going to do when I get tired of that.

At any rate, I no longer think low-carbing it is completely nuts, though some people go to an unhealthy extreme.

Last night I thought I was going to skip dinner because I was just being lazy, but my husband brought home a steak, broccoli, potato and (evil man) dessert. I was quite grateful.

Well, enough about my silly eating habits, I have work to do. :)
