Windows Custom Domains

by deletedsoul | November 28, 2005 | In General

Microsoft may only be jockeying for a position in the web 2.0 race, with the start.com and Windows Live bit, but I am pleased with the concept on Windows Custom Domains. Basically, you reconfigure your MX Entry on your mail server to reflect the one handed out by Microsoft. You can host up to 20 email addresses from your own domain on the MSN server, with Hotmail login capability, 250 Mb of storage per email, along with a few other advanced features that you normally would not see on hosted web mail. I haven’t used Hotmail or MSN services in a long time, but the general concept is nice. I might actually use it if I ever actually used my domain email, and if there was no such thing as Gmail.
