Last weekend I was out prowling the stores, looking for a supplemental gift for my husband (I ended up getting him Direct TV w/Tivo), and wandered into a local Pet store. I like animals, but generally, I stay away from the bird section.

I heard the mild squawk of a bird in a corner cage, and ventured over to see what kind of pet it was. It turned out to be an Amazon Parrot, only 6 months old. He made his way over to the front of the cage, eyeing me from head to toe for a couple of minutes. Finally, he hopped to the bottom of the cage and picked up a nut. He crawled back to the top of the cage, and stuck the treat through the bars with his beak, as if offering it to me. When I didn’t take the treat, he dropped it to the cage floor.

It had to be the cutest thing I have seen in a long time. :)
