Achoo.

by deletedsoul | February 13, 2006 | In General No Comments

I am fighting off a hardcore sore throat and snot fest today. I was sick for 3/4 of the weekend, spent most of my time in bed. Never pleasent, but to be expected with everyone around me being sick and all. I am chugging Airborne and some cold meds, hoping that I am better by mid-week, because I have to go to be with my mother in the hospital.

The joys of winter, that I could do without. Yet I still would like to move to Alaska…go figure.

alexadexlogo.jpgIf you’ve ever wanted to play the stock market, but never have any real cash to play with, check out AlexaDex. You can buy, sell, and trade stock shares of common, new and popular websites and web companies at realtime prices. It’s all just a game, but it is pretty fun once you get into it. You get 10,000 dollars to start with, and can enter any URL to see the current price and availability of those shares.

I used to pour over the stocks in the daily paper with my dad as a kid, so I find this pretty entertaining.

Happy trading!

Simply Hired

simhir.gifI found a nifty job search tool today, simplyhired.com. It has the same basic concept as Indeed, but with a slightly better user interface. I have found that Indeed is much better than Monster for simply searching, but lacks the networking and resume features that Monster provides. Yahoo! HotJobs covers the resume features, but the job searches are very narrow, not returning many results at all. Simplyhired doesn’t have resume posting or networking, but it does have a few nice filtering features, to filter by part-time, full time, volunteer or even by company. Also, it allows you to rate certain jobs, to better serve your job search needs the next time you go to the site.

Very nice, simplyhired.com!
