I finally decided to install a desktop blogging client. After testing w.bloggar, WB Editor and BlogJet, I finally settled on Blogjet. It has most of the features I want, and the ones it does not have are not deal-breakers. I was looking for something that would allow me to post to multiple blogs at once, have a basic WYSIWYG editor, but allow me to switch to HTML easily. A spellchecker would be nice too. BlogJet has all these features, along with support for many of the most popular blogging platforms such as Wordpress, Movable Type and TypePad. It also offers the journaling crowd some features too, supporting free sites like MSN Spaces, Blogger and LiveJournal. From the site:

I am going to use it for the trial period and see how well it goes. I have not been able to stick with a client before, preferring nearly everything web-based, from email to banking. Wish me luck!
