I watched Silent Hill last night, and for a video game movie (which usually suck) it turned out pretty well. There were a couple of slight “cringe” moments, an OK plot, and the special effects were not cheesy. The script was a little hokey at times (like when one of the characters enters a factory and says “looks like there was a fire!”…ummm…it’s set in a burnt-out town?!), but not atrocious.

According to my gamer husband, they captured the game aspect pretty well.

I would give the movie a 7 on a scale of 1-10 in the game movie market, a 6 overall, due to the slightly weak scripting.

Definitely a watchable movie though, and worth the trip!
