What’s up with South Carolina?

April 28, 2006 :: General ::

This past July I blogged about the powers that be in Missouri passing a bill to put stringent restrictions on strip clubs . If you read that blog, I pretty much outlined my indignation about the issue.

I read today via Sex Drive Daily, that South Carolina is attempting to ban the sale of sex toys within the state. According to the Independant Mail, the law would shut down any businesses that rely primarily on the sale of such items, and allows law enforcement to seize the inventory of these establishments.

From the site:

The South Carolina bill, proposed by Republican
Rep. Ralph Davenport, would make it a felony to sell devices used
primarily for sexual stimulation and allow law enforcement to seize sex
toys from raided businesses.

 This irks me just about as much as the strip club law that the idiots in Missouri tried to enforce. Do they think that everyone who buys a dildo or some lube are sleazy? What about the 40 year old couples that maybe want to put some spice back into the relationship? This apparently doesn't matter, because sex is bad bad bad, right? Regardless of the fact that every human alive is the result of a sex act. Let's stick our heads a little further up our asses, shall we?
