Wow, 30 years since Jonestown:

To Do

by deletedsoul | January 25, 2007 | In General

I have a handful of things I want to get done by the end of the month.

Granted, most of them are online projects that I want to finish, but I don’t really have any projects currently that are not online, outside of school and always being on the lookout for “career opportunities”. :)

First off, and I hope to at least make some headway this weekend, is my home inventory. I am a firm believer that you should always keep a detailed list of your possessions, with serial numbers, value and preferably photos. I used to have such a list, at createyourinventory.com, but they just decided to shut down, so I am re-creating the whole thing using stuffsafe.com. It’s a little rough around the edges, but it serves the purpose. Plus, I can print out the items and store them in my safe deposit box. Woohoo!. This is understandably a time-consuming process, so I need to get started on the serial numbers and such.

Secondly, I am working on a secondary Flickr site for both sides of my family as well as my husband’s family, so I am going to be working on that off and on. I’ve completed my Geni family tree for as much as I can remember, so until I can talk to a family member who knows more about my lineage than me, I can’t really go much further. I do, however, have a lot of family photos that I can put online, so they will be safe, and available when I need them for the family tree project.

I’ve already completed my taxes this year, my bills are all paid (with the exception of my truck), and except for my hefty health insurance prices (Feb. is going to be a bitch) I am not really needing to juggle my budget for anything. That’s all thanks to my husband and Budget Tracker. :)

Oh, if you haven’t done your taxes yet, I recommend checking out Free File from the IRS before you do. They give a lot of options for filing (or e-filing) your taxes for free. I used TaxCut, and it didn’t cost me anything, because my AGI was under $52,000. Being a *ahem* person of limited means has its perks. :) Regardless of the company you choose to file your taxes, you will usually get a filing price break if you click the link to the tax prep site from the IRS Free File page.

The Internet is a many splendored thing!!
