I am Legend
December 31, 2007 :: Movies & TV ::
I do not get to go out to movies as often as I used to, but I had the chance to see “I am Legend” last night. It was a decent movie, but I think they could have done much more with it.
*spoiler alert*
Through the first half of the movie Will Smith’s character keeps having flashbacks, which appear to be leading up to the present, and setting the stage for the situation he is in presently. However, after a handful of such flashbacks, they stop. You get the basic principle of what’s going on, however, more back story would have put the finishing touches on a movie that turned out barely better than mediocre. I really felt that the last bit of the movie was quite rushed. Another half-hour on that film, with more transition up to the present would have been nice.
The movie was watchable, and as a friend of mine said, I was impressed by Smith’s ability to carry the majority of the movie by himself. However, it was one of those movies that I walked away from feel as if something major was missing, and wondering if I just blinked at the wrong time. :)
