Concert - 12 Stones/Sick Puppies/Three Doors Down

April 2, 2008 :: Entertainment, Music ::

Pretty excellent concert tonight. I managed to get possibly the worst seats possible, but it music itself was pretty enjoyable.

First up was 12 Stones. They have been around awhile, kind of in the middle of the road between breaking it big and being obscure. for the most part, they play pretty accessible rock, along the lines of bands like Crossfade.

Second was Sick Puppies. This wasn’t a band I was familiar with, but I was fairly impressed with them. The band consisted mostly of a guy and girl, both Australians. They were pretty high-energy and got the crowd going before the main act even got on stage. Plus, the girl bassist was hot. :)

Lastly, 3 Doors Down took the stage. They were a little more animated than I remembered, but the heavy over-tones of “America Rules!!” got a little old. However, the tour was sponsored by the National Guard, so I shouldn’t have expected anything different. Musically, the band was impressive, with a lot of movement and a decently long set.

Overall, the concert gets a B, would have gotten better if it wasn’t for my shitty seats!!
