Wow, 30 years since Jonestown:

REEDSBURG, Wis. (AP) ― An elementary-school event in which kids were encouraged to dress as members of the opposite gender drew the ire of a Christian radio group, whose angry broadcast prompted outraged calls to the district office.

Apparently playing “dress-up” is now the “wrong message” to send to students and “strikes at the heart” of Biblical values.

Give me a break.

First of all, the children picked the theme for the dress up day. The school didn’t force it upon them. Secondly, the parents and teachers had no problem with the theme.

It’s a common theme among some of these nuts to find a demon behind every bush, even in something as innocent as this.

What if the kids wanted to dress up like animals? Would there have been an outcry of “oh my goodness, they are encouraging the kids to be furries”?

When I was a kid, I had been known to put on my parents’ clothes when I was goofing off and playing dress up with my nieces and nephews, and my parents didn’t think I was going to end up gay or a cross-dresser.

Why the outrage here?

Too many people like those in the article would protest to high heaven if anyone tried to regulate their churches or religion, but they try daily to inject religion into every facet of government.

If you don’t like it, don’t participate, but don’t try to force everyone else to dislike it as well.

People need to get over themselves.

Idiots.

  1. agreed. stupidest thing i’ve heard today.

  2. Sometimes Kids just need a break from things in school or just want something differant. Why do i see comments exactly like this all over the web. Just relax. There is nothing wrong with it, so just let them do it.
