A relaxing weekend wraps up with a day of TV and movies, which is always quite nice.
First, I finished off the first season of Desperate Housewives, which is usually not my kind of show, but it ended up much better than I expected. I am a little miffed that they killed off one of my favorite characters, but the show must go on, heh.
Next I watched (most of) Land of the Dead, George Romero’s latest undead flick. Not bad as far as zombie movies go, always in the mood for watching a juicy walking corpse chow down on some man-tar-tar.
Last but not least, I actually left the house and went to see Saw II. I wasn’t extremely impressed, but I was not disappointed either. it had a halfway decent plot, plenty of gore and “ouch” moments, and some new/interesting twists. My only bitch was that the acting was not very good, even for a horror flick which is only a couple notches above porn in the acting expectation category. Saw, however, should strive for sometime a little more substantial in the tradition of the first film, which was decent, IMO. At any rate, it was worth the 6.50 to see Shawnee Smith get tossed into a pit of hypodermic needles. I haven’t liked that girl since her role in The Stand, one of my favorite movies, btw. I guess I am showing my rather odd movie tastes.
I saw a few previews tonight that sparked an interest in upcoming movies as well:
I wasn’t overly impressed with the first one…I thought it was a little on the boring side, actually. However, who am I to pass up 2 hours of seeing Kate Beckinsale in skin tight leather? :)
I am not a Tarantino fan (quite the opposite), but this movie looks deliciously shocking…just how I like them. Obviously by watching gory films like this I am desensitizing my already altered conciousness to the sights and sounds of human suffering and death….heh, just kidding.
I have a few others on my to watch list as well, but I will go over those later.
Goodnight all!

Me and my friend had an arguement about Kate Beckinsale last night, he says she is at least 39 and I think she is in her early 30s. We have been looking for the correct answer and found your blog in the search engine results, could you please tell us her exact age?
