Microsoft recently unveiled what they had been plotting behind the Origami Project: The Ultra-Moble PC (UMPC). Designed to fully function as a normal PC, allowing the installation of full programs, storage of music and movies, and connectivity via Bluetooth or WiFi. They are designed to come equipped with XP Tablet Edition rather than Windows Mobile, have an Intel chip, and a hi res 7 inch screen. I am looking forward to the release of the nifty little critters. Downside: The current design(s) seem clunky and smack of late 90’s tech.

Today Google Inc. acquired Writely, one of my favorite new tools. Smooth move!
From Writely:
Has Writely been acquired by Google?
